Masterbatch was first developed in Western Europe by countries in the 1960s. China's research in this area started late. At the end of the 1970s, Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin began to develop and do test production; in the mid-1980s, Beijing Yanshan Petrochemical and Guangdong Xinhui have successively introduced wet and dry process technologies and equipment from Ciba Gage, Hearst and other companies. Masterbatch, also known as color seed, masterbatch is a new type of special polymer colorants, also known as pigment preparations. It consists of three basic elements: colorant (pigment or dye), carrier and additive. It is a kind of plastic coloring aggregate obtained by evenly attaching a superconstant colorant (pigment or dye) to the resin. It can be called a pigment concentrate, so its coloring power is higher than the pigment itself. Simply put, the masterbatch is a kind of aggregate and mixture prepared by uniformly loading an extraordinary amount of colorant (pigment or dye) into the resin.
